Advice Sheets

Advice sheets are provided to cover all services that I regularly perform. They cover arterial surgery, varicose vein surgery, sclerotherapy and hernia repair. In the case of varicose vein surgery and hernia repair there are slightly different sheets for NHS and private patients. The essential content is exactly the same, the differences relate to how the service is delivered. There is also a sheet about phenol lumbar sympathetic block. This I sometimes recommend to patients with severe lower limb ischaemia to relieve pain. I do not do this procedure myself but refer you to a Consultant in Pain Management. If I recommend this it is useful for you to know in advance about what is involved.

The Sussex Stroke & Circulation Fund has information about vascular services in the area and about our fund raising charity. This was founded some 25 years ago and has raised about £1 million to help patients with vascular disease. Most of the funds have been directed to assist the NHS to purchase the imaging equipment so important for accurate diagnosis in vascular disease.
